Chalo's ten-year association with Sergio Mendes as a featured performer gained him international acclaim for his showmanship, fiery solos, and center stage tambourine juggling and dancing performances. Chalo has perform with Carlos Santana, Daniela Mercury. Ricky Martin and collaborated with Mickey Hart, Giovanni Hidalgo and Zakair Hussian.

Chalo's reputation as a consummate percussionist and performer continues to precede him. His workshops are informative and entertaining. Since 1982 Chalo has presented at CCMC, CMTC, NAMM, CSU summer arts, Young Audiences program, Young Imaginations and at numerous Universities as resident teacher where student performances have been a hit, with the ensemble parading through the audience bring everyone to their feet, cheering.

Matt Wright is the director of Santa Barbara Samba School is a community based drumming group with the goal of teaching and performing Samba and Afro Brazilian rhythms. He is also one of the main musicians with the UCSB Middle Eastern Ensemble.

Saturdays workshops are always from 4p to 6 and Sundays are 10a to noon

Parking: closest lot is #3, and the second closest (convenient for people coming from points north) is #29. THRE IS $3 fee for parking! Cost of all workshops are $110!
